Galgotias University Signs MoU with Felix Hospital to Strengthen Clinical Training for Allied Health and Nursing Students

Galgotias University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Felix Hospital, Greater Noida, to enhance clinical education for students of the School of Allied Health Sciences and the School of Nursing. The collaboration provides structured internships, hands-on clinical training, research opportunities, and practical exposure in NABH-accredited multispecialty hospitals while strengthening healthcare education and industry readiness.

Galgotias University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Felix Hospital, Greater Noida, to significantly strengthen clinical education, skill development, and practical healthcare training for students enrolled in the School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS) and the School of Nursing. The partnership is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world patient care by providing structured clinical exposure, compulsory internships, competency-based education, and hands-on experience in a NABH-accredited healthcare environment.

Felix Hospital operates two NABH-accredited multispecialty hospitals in Greater Noida with a combined capacity of 400 beds. Under the agreement, students will receive extensive clinical exposure across multiple medical disciplines while gaining practical experience with advanced medical technologies. The programme will also familiarize students with NABH quality standards, patient safety protocols, and professional healthcare practices, ensuring they develop industry-ready clinical competencies before graduation.

Speaking on the collaboration, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, Chief Executive Officer of Galgotias University, emphasized the importance of integrating academic learning with practical healthcare experience. He said that healthcare education becomes complete only when classroom learning is combined with the realities of patient care. He noted that students first develop their clinical skills in the University's advanced nursing simulation laboratory, while the partnership with Felix Hospital enables them to transition from simulation-based learning to real patient care. He added that the collaboration will provide allied health and nursing students with immersive clinical experience in a NABH-accredited environment, preparing them to graduate as confident, compassionate, and professionally competent healthcare practitioners from the very beginning of their careers.

The collaboration covers the University's entire healthcare education ecosystem. Students pursuing Physiotherapy, Cardiovascular Therapy, Laboratory Sciences, Optometry, and Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology under the School of Allied Health Sciences will receive specialty-specific clinical exposure at a fully operational multispecialty hospital. This practical training will complement the University's existing academic infrastructure, including electrotherapy laboratories and its outpatient department, allowing students to integrate theoretical knowledge with real clinical practice.

For the School of Nursing, the MoU reinforces the clinical rotations that form a core component of its Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme, a four-year degree recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and the Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty. Students will first master clinical procedures and emergency response techniques in the University's state-of-the-art nursing simulation laboratory using advanced mannequins in a controlled learning environment before applying those skills while treating patients during supervised clinical training at Felix Hospital.

Throughout the programme, students will work under experienced clinicians, medical technologists, and nursing professionals to develop clinical competencies aligned with the curriculum prescribed by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions. The structured exposure is intended to enhance technical expertise while strengthening ethical practice, professional conduct, and patient-centered care.

Beyond clinical education, the partnership will promote interdisciplinary learning through collaborative research, workshops, and continuing professional education initiatives. The joint academic activities are expected to help students connect classroom instruction and laboratory-based learning with the realities of modern healthcare delivery while strengthening the technical, ethical, and interpersonal skills required in contemporary clinical practice.

The agreement further expands Galgotias University's engagement with the regional healthcare ecosystem. The University recently upgraded the Community Health Centre at Dadha, Greater Noida, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Gautam Buddha Nagar. As part of the initiative, the physiotherapy and rehabilitation unit was strengthened through the installation of modern therapy equipment and the deployment of trained physiotherapy professionals, improving access to quality healthcare services in rural areas.
